About

When acclaimed joiner Ryan Morris decided to take a lifetime’s dedication to woodwork a step further and create a company to produce great crafts from timber, slate, stone and leather, his aim was to mirror the Lakes’ beauty, using some new, but as much reclaimed material as possible.

Ryan’s love of heritage, culture and traditions has been channeled into making ultimate gifts and keepsakes, designed from the heart and made to be cherished forever.

A partner in renowned building and joinery business, Shire Homes, Ryan has access to some amazing reclamation opportunities. Ranging from centuries-old beams, dating back to 15th century ships, to metal artefacts fine and woodwork, he has an endless supply of exciting objects crying out for a new lease of life.

Working on historic and interesting buildings, Ryan’s mission is to salvage discarded materials and transform them. Also using top-quality new materials, he makes beautiful, bespoke works of sheer creativity and skill.

Ryan explains: “I was born and bred in the Lakes, where the mountains, lakes, valleys, traditions and crafts inspire and captivate me every single day. Distinctive Creations gives me the platform to be truly original, interpreting what I see, feel and love in everything I make.”
